Are we responsible for our rose?

Are we responsible for our rose?

2019, Jul 08

This is not a tutorial post, In this post, I want to suggest a movie and express my feelings about it, so if you have not seen this do not read this post it has a lot of spoil. Last night I watched the A.I. Artificial Intelligence and it had made me think. It is a fantastic movie by Steven Spielberg and had many deep scenes. In short, it takes place in 22 century, that robots are so intelligent and do many services for humans. There are many types of them, such as servants, baby sitters, or even toys, but the most special one is a robotic boy, the first programmed to love, David. He is adopted as a test case by a man and his wife. He gradually becomes their child, but a series of unexpected circumstances make this life impossible for David. Humans, made him and, to be specific, her mother taught him to love, but after that, they left him alone. It reminded me one Quote from little prince, “ you are responsible for your rose.”, but are we? We make intelligent robots we teach them to be like humans and someday when they will be just like a human. That day, will we accept them as humans with feelings? Or they will be our servant, just like the movie shows that?

Some times it is frightening, robots with powers and intelligence, but history shows that humans are the most frightening creatures. They use everything that they want, and they do not think about others. And always they convince themselves that other creatures do not feel or they have to do these horrible things.

I hope I am wrong, and they change their attitudes and be more kind to robots, and with their help make the world a better place to live.
